Nurcan Atalan Helicke

Nurcan Atalan-Helicke, associate professor and director of the Environmental Studies and Sciences Program, published “” in Sociology of Islam (Volume 8: Issue 3-4, December 2020).Her article “” (co-authored by Dilek Eroğlu of Abant İzzet Baysal University in Turkey) appeared in the International Journal of Social and Humanities Sciences (Volume 4: Issue 3, December 2020).

Corinne Moss RacusinCorinne Moss-Racusin, associate professor of psychology, has been awarded the American Psychological Association Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology in the area of social psychology. The prestigious award honors early-career scientists for research conducted in the first decade following completion of their doctorate. 

Denise SmithDenise L. Smith, professor in the Health and Human Physiological Sciences Department, co-authored two articles that focus on mitigating carcinogenic risk in firefighters. ““ was published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health, and “" was published in Fire Technology. Both projects involved collaborations with researchers from Illinois Fire Service Institute, Underwriters Laboratory Fire Safety Research Institute and National Occupational Safety and Health.  

Dominique Vuvan

Dominique Vuvan, assistant professor of psychology, co-authored the editorial “,” which appeared in the journal Music Perception (Volume 38: Issue 2, November 2020). Vuvan was writing as chair of the anti-racism and equity committee of the Society for Music Perception and Cognition.
