Introduction A. Membership: a second student member will be determined by upcoming willingness to serve process to be conducted by SGA. B. Procedures: Minutes to be taken by CEPP members in rotation. Drafts of minutes to be circulated among CEPP members, then made public after approval. C. CEPP members are asked to hold this semesters meeting time (Monday, 9:00-10:00 am) free next semester, as course schedules are planned. II. Review of agenda for this year Old Business A. Dean of Studies Review Subcommittee: Continuing CEPP member Kyle Nichols chaired this subcommittee. Its report, received by CEPP last spring, needs approval for publication in final form by October faculty meeting. Dan will email the draft report to current CEPP members. B. University without Walls: Dan has been serving on Summer Working Group. Following completion of the report, CEPP will be among the groups to be consulted by the VPAA about next steps. C. Academic Grievance Policy: Erica is serving as CEPP representative and chair of this subcommittee, to report in January. SGA has endorsed the report by DOS Michael Ennis-McMillan that was submitted to CEPP last year. One major goal of the subcommittee is to ensure that consistent statements of Academic Grievance Policy appear in both the Faculty and Student Handbooks. D. Assessment Steering Committee: Becoming operational with the appointment of Sarah Goodwin as Faculty Assessment Coordinator. Erica is serving as CEPP representative. It may be advisable for this committee to move toward independent status rather than continuing as a subcommittee of CEPP. E. Center Study Group: Terry and Rik are serving as CEPP representatives on this Task Force, which Terry chairs. He will re-send the May 2008 update to current CEPP membership. Final report due next spring. F. Responsible Citizen Task Force: Rik is serving as CEPP representative. G. Advisory Committee on International Study (ACIS). Erica is serving as CEPP representative and chair of this committee. H. IRC: Now that the VPAA serves as a CEPP member, she can keep CEPP informed of relevant IRC matters. No need to appoint a separate CEPP member to IRC. I. Periclean Society: CEPP was consulted last spring about SGAs move toward de-chartering this Society, which consequently needs a new place in the structure of the college. Negotiations are ongoing about the office of the Dean of the Faculty assuming this responsibility. J. Implementation of new writing requirement: Though implementation is not directly in CEPPs hands, CEPP will continue to monitor progress. K. MALS proposal to enroll undergraduates in MALS seminars: brought to CEPP last year by MALS director John Anzalone and Interim Dean of Special Programs Jeff Segrave. Status of the proposal following questions raised by CEPP needs to be determined. New business (possible topics, on which CEPP might begin discussion that could continue into next year) A.
